The Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Crime Analyst. This is a full-time position. A high school degree or equivalent and a valid VA driver’s license are required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to pass a criminal background check, and be able to work flexible hours. The Crime Analyst identifies crime patterns, maintains records, performs local criminal history checks, communicates with Sheriff’s Office personnel and surrounding jurisdictions regarding crimes, and submits data monthly to the Virginia State Police. The Crime Analyst also handles Freedom of Information Act requests and other administrative tasks.
