Presentation Abstract:Â 4chan is the place where some of the most notorious pranksters and hacktivists in the world meet and organize. But is there something analysts can learn from 4chan and those who use it? In this presentation, I’ll discuss the beginnings of 4chan and some of the infamous incidents that have originated there. Then, I will present a case study of a 4chan caper: how it was devised, how it was implemented, and how it ended. I’ll explain how that silly prank demonstrated tactics and techniques that analysts can find useful in their professional duties.
